The credit card has changed the shape of shopping in today’s world. Unfortunately, if you cancel your American Express credit card like I did, it means you cannot have access to certain services you may have taken for granted. Without that credit card, I was unable to join the local gym, to order t-shirts off of the Internet, to reserve a plane ticket online - and that is just a few of the basics. Not that many years ago, people preferred cash to credit, but not now.

All across the country and the world, people are using their Visa, Mastercard card, or American Express credit card to make purchases with money that they do not have of goods which they may not need. Using your American Express credit card may be convenient but there is a cost for the convenience of paying at a later date. In many places around the world, credit card debts are increasing at a worrying rate. It is not a lie when I say the credit card debts are the biggest worry facing the people in America.

I couldn’t think of any other alternative but to get rid of my American Express credit card. There was nothing to stop me because I wasn’t actually taking money from my pocket. I was using my card for just about everything, but I soon noticed the debts were mounting. Panic kicked in when I found I could no longer pay the debt.

The debt refinancing service I turned to were my best hope and I managed to get the debt repayment under control. To say the situation had become a nightmare would be a gross understatement. Now, I have gotten my debt paid off and cancelled my American Express credit card. A lot of people would think that it is rash to blame it on my credit card, but I think that they do not understand something about human psychology.

You have more control when you see the cash actually coming out of your pocket. It’s easy using a credit card and at the time quite painless. I would just keep spending, not realizing until all the money was gone. Now there is no American Express credit card; so no problem.

It’s now normal almost everywhere in the world to use your Mastercard, Visa or American Express to pay for goods or services you may not even need with money they do not have. You cannot escape though, as the price is high when using your American Express credit card and buy it now, pay tomorrow philosophy. Unfortunately, credit card debts are mounting in many places around the world. It is true that credit debts are one of the biggest problems that are facing America today, and that is no joke.

Canceling my American Express credit card was something I had to do as I much as I hated doing it. I was getting out of control with my spending because it was just so easy handing over the card. Charging everything to my card was stupid because before too long the debts just spiraled out of control. I was dealing with a debt that I could not possibly pay, and I was in a state of panic.

To get my debt back into a position where I could pay for it I resorted to using a debt refinancing company. This is not something I ever want to happen again. It took some time but the American Express credit card has gone and so has my debt. Most of you reading this will probably think it’s not the fault of the credit card but you need to understand something fundamental about human psychology.

Paying with cash makes you aware of how much things cost. The credit card just made it so easy; you don’t even look at the cost. Spending money like it was going out of fashion and it didn’t take long before it was gone. I no longer have an American Express credit card problem!
